Match Made in Hockey Heaven

Sweater Weather fans, the day finally arrived and your girl got to go to the Season Ticket Holder Appreciation event.
It was a morning event, so I had to force myself to stumble out of bed at 8 am. Grumbling during my entire routine, I finally hit the road and made my way to Nationwide Arena with my cousin, Savannah.
The event started at 10 and the players would be coming out at 11. We got there at the very late hour of 10:05 and people had already begun queueing to meet their favorite players.
Unfortunately, my favorite player, love of my life, future husband has been having a great season, so the line to meet him was unbearably long. Instead, we opted to meet my cousin’s favorite player, love of her life, future husband Boone Jenner.
Boone was seated with Mark Letestu, both awesome players, and both I have already met. Regardless, I was still super pumped to see their smiling faces again and thank them for the opportunity. Savannah, though, was hyper-focused on meeting Boone.
The line moved quickly and the moment was upon us. We were next in line to meet the players. I pulled out my camera, ready to capture the moment of Boone Jenner and Savannah falling in love.
She stared him down. He said “hi.” She blurted out, “you’re my favorite player.” I could hear the wedding bells.
Boone had a giant grin on his face and thanked her. She was wearing his jersey at the time, and he asked her if it was signed. When she informed him it was not, he immediately seized the opportunity to make her day.
She couldn’t stop smiling. I was happy that I was able to bring the kid along with me to this event and make her day. She was practically in tears, she was so happy, and immediately called everyone she knew to set the wedding date.
After meeting Boone and Mark, we hopped in line to meet a few other players. All in all, we got to meet seven players: Boone Jenner, Mark Letestu, Zach Werenski, Ryan Murray, Dean Kukan, Oliver Bjorkstrand, and Josh Anderson.
I added to my collection of signatures on my jersey. I had Josh sign a picture of himself for my mom because he is her favorite player, love of her life, future husband (though I very well couldn’t say that to his face. “Hi, my mom absolutely loves you and she wants you to marry either herself or me.” First impressions, you know?)

I had an amazing time with Savannah and we made some great memories, and seeing the pretty hockey players up close and personal was also an added bonus.
Anyone else make it out to the event? Let me know who you got to meet in the comments below!
